The Woodbox Inn
circa 1850

We welcome you to a special place. The Woodbox Inn at 36 Fair offers the perfect quiet atmosphere for your island vacation from mid May through mid-October.

The original residence at 36 Fair Street was built circa 1850. Mrs. Tutein, was the person that initiated the gracious style that now is a signature of The Woodbox. Her son, Dexter Tutein, carries on the tradition today blending the tradition of yesteryear with many of today's modern conveniences.

Because the inn is located in Nantucket's historic district, our guests are only a few moments' walk from Main Street. Nearby are boutiques, a newly renovated Whaling museum, art galleries, and antique shops. There are many wonderful restaurants within walking distance as well, though you must make the Woodbox one of your dining experiences. Ride a bike or shuttles to our magnificent beaches, visit historic, 'Sconset at the east end of the island or enjoy a 'Madaket Mystery' at the west side of the island. Whatever you choose, you are sure to relax and enjoy the comforts of the Woodbox Inn.

'What a great Inn. We'd definitely come back to The Woodbox! The location is perfect. I'm five months pregnant with our third child. I loved being so close to Main Street. What an easy walk. Thanks for the great time."
